History
Engineering and surveying are more than our profession—they are part of our legacy. Since 1943, when Chester and Helen Bamforth established their land surveying practice in coastal Virginia, our family has carried forward a tradition of technical excellence and community trust. In 1977, their son, C. Allan Bamforth, Jr., and his wife, Linda, expanded that foundation into what is now Bamforth Engineers + Surveyors. Today, under the leadership of their daughter, Anna Lee Bamforth, the firm has grown into a dynamic team of nearly twenty professionals and is proudly recognized as a small, women-owned business.
Grounded in generations of experience, we bring both the stability of a long-established firm and the energy of continuous improvement. Our reputation was built on a handshake—a symbol of our commitment to integrity, reliability, and results—and that promise remains unchanged. Clients and partners know they can count on us to deliver projects that meet the highest standards: on time, on budget, and with solutions designed to last.
Over the years
Bamforth Engineers + Surveyors is powered by a team of seasoned civil engineers, surveying professionals, skilled technicians, and dedicated support staff. Together, we transform client visions into practical, high-quality designs that meet operational demands, stay on schedule, and align with budget and regulatory requirements. For larger or multi-disciplinary projects, we partner with like-minded professionals to deliver comprehensive solutions with the same standard of excellence.
Over the years, our firm has successfully provided civil engineering and surveying services on a wide range of projects and contracts—spanning both eastern and western seaboards of the United States and extending to more than 20 countries worldwide.
